ONGOING MINISTRIES OF LIVING SAVIOUR
Opportunities to share God’s love
URGENT NEED FOR CRISIS ASSISTANCE MINISTRY: Living Saviour
has as an ongoing project the collecting of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing
for the Crisis Assistance Home Essentials Program. Crisis Assistance Ministry
also provides the Emergency Financial Assistance Program, providing aid to people
who are in danger of being evicted or losing their utility connection through
direct payments to housing and utility companies. Due to the current downturn in
the nation’s economy, more people in our community have been forced to turn to
Crisis Ministry for this financial assistance, placing a severe strain on available
resources and forcing Crisis Ministry to turn away needy families. Will you
prayerfully consider a monetary gift to this valuable ministry? You can mail your
tax-deductible check to 500-A Spratt St., Charlotte NC 28206 or contribute
online at www.crisisassistance.org.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: They’re all around your house……Those
items that you have not used in a while but still have value. The ReStore, a fundraising
division of Habitat For Humanity, is looking for donations of new and
used furniture, appliances, home décor, books, and other sellable items. The profits
of the ReStore are used to build Habitat homes in Charlotte. To make a donation
or to learn more, please call 704-392-4495 or go to
www.CharlotteRestore.org.
LOAVES & FISHES - organized effort to donate food and supplies and offer other services to this Charlotte-area food pantry. Did you know?
- Loaves & Fishes fed nearly 82,000 people in 2008 through a network of 17
volunteer-staffed food pantries and only eight paid staff.
- Loaves & Fishes does not charge any fees for the food provided.
Your donations go directly to feed the hungry.
- Individuals and families receive a week's worth of nutritious groceries
to prepare in their own homes.
- People are referred to Loaves & Fishes by human service agencies, clergy,
medical providers and school counselors who see first hand those who struggle
in our community.
- Loaves & Fishes keeps costs low (83% program and 17% administrative)
thanks to community support. The average Loaves & Fishes' client faces an overwhelming
amount of financial burden brought on by an emergency situation.
Living Saviour continues to be a supporter of Loaves & Fishes through food collections
that are regularly delivered to the pantries. Please remember to place
canned items in the grocery cart in the fellowship hall. Priority needs are canned
meats, soup, canned fruit, peanut butter and 100% fruit juice. No glass
please. Thank you for your generous donations!
